The chairman of Swansea City, Huw Jenkins, has resigned. He has held the role since 2002. The club's Supporters' Trust had called for him to go: Resignation
Kieran Maguire of the PriceofFootball commented, 'The club was losing £400,000 a week in the Premier League and reliant upon player sales to balance the books. Swansea's losses mainly due to high wage bills, club paying £78 in wages for every £100 of income, add in transfer fee and figure rises to £96 so little to pay the other bills. Much higher than other Premier League clubs so will be worse in the EFL.'
In the Premier League 'Swansea, like many non 'Big 6' clubs, very dependent upon TV money, which represented £86 of every £100 of income. Matchday prices were low and relatively few corporate/hospitality seats sold, so earn less from this source.'
