Swansea City are close to agreeing a new 40-year lease at the Liberty Stadium. Under the terms of the deal being discussed with Swansea Council the club would gain day-to-day operational control of the stadium in return for meeting its running costs, which would reduce the potential liabilities faced by the local authority and fellow tenants Ospreys Rugby.
If Swansea are successful in securing control they will explore the possibility of selling naming rights and seek to increase capacity from 21,000 to 30.000.
