The example of Braintree Town shows just how much it costs to keep a non-league club going these days. Braintree Town lost £123,000 in 2021/22 taking total losses to £900,000, reports Kieran Maguire.
Braintree, like many clubs, is dependent upon owners and
directors to be sustainable. Loans of almost £1 million keep the club going. Almost every club is a benefactor club.
